| 1. Can my kids wear life jackets in the pool or when going down the slide? | |
| No. With the zero-depth entrance to the pool, there is no need for flotation devices for young children. If they can't swim, they should be supervised by parents at all times. For safety reasons, no life jackets will be allowed on the slide. | |

| 2. Why does the Community Center have 820 N. Washington for an address? | |
| DSU has offered the Community Center the use of its campus mail service. | |
| . | |
| 3. What will be the hourly rate in the Child Care Center? | |
| $1.00 per child per hour (2 hour limit) | |
| . | |
| 4. What kind of programs will you be offering? | |
| Individuals may use the pool, hot tub, sauna, track, racquetball court, fitness room, aerobics room, multi-purpose gym and the lounge at no additional cost to their membership fees. Lessons and classes in swimming, aerobics, racquetball, yoga, and other areas will be available at an additional cost. That cost will help pay for the instructors. | |

| 6. I'm a full-time student at DSU. Do I have to pay extra to join the Community Center or does my tuition include those fees? | |

| . | |
| 8. How do I find out about the corporate membership program? | |
| Ask your employer or call 256-5837. | |
| . | |
| 9. What are the benefits of a corporate membership? | |
| If enough employees of a corporation join the Community Center, they may receive a membership fees discount of 5% - 15%. Some corporations pay the annual membership for their employees, allowing them to take advantage of the lowest rates, and then use payroll deduction for their employees to repay them. There are also some who are subsidizing part of the membership fee. There are several businesses in town who are paying the entire cost of the membership for their employees as a bonus or benefit. | |
| . | |
| 10. How do I apply for financial assistance? Is the information I provide confidential? | |
| Call 256-5837 and ask for instructions. The information and request is not only confidential, but the handling of the request will be very discreet. | |
| . | |
| 11. Why don't you offer monthly memberships and let me decide if I want to rejoin each month? | |
| There are monthly membership fees through the use of a monthly bank draft, or in the case of some employers, through payroll deductions. If you have seen the sheet on the fees schedule and payment plans, you can see the complexities which are being dealt with by the office staff. We will be using "swipe cards" for member identification. To add another monthly payment plan where members can pay by mail or at the door increases the complexity and the cost of the bookkeeping significantly and simply would not be financially feasible. | |
| . | |
| 12. What's the correlation between health and fitness and medical costs? | |
| Some insurance companies will decrease health insurance premiums if a corporation has a fitness plan in place. Many others increase the cost of group health insurance premiums if the medical costs within the group increases, and staying fit helps prevent such increases. A person who exercises, stays fit and does not smoke, on the average will simply incur less medical expenses than one who does not stay fit and smokes. | |

| 13. When will the youth center be available? | |
| The Youth Center will be open everyday after school to all youth, whether or not they are members. We are considering having it open from 7:00 _ 10:00 p.m. to certain age groups, depending on the night. For instance, at that time on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights it might be available only to high school kids, and Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays to Middle School kids. We have not made a final decision about this yet, and the school kids who helped us design the layout for the Youth Center will help us develop these types of policies. | |
| . | |
| 14. Does this mean that no other kids can use the facility on those nights? | |
| No. The gym, pool and everything except the youth center will still be available to all age kids. | |
| . | |

| We are considering offering intramural leagues for youth, and that decision will be made in the near future. | |

| . | |
