Aaron Walter 

Aaron Walter began his duties at the community center on April 14th, 2003 He graduated from Huron University with a bachelors degree in Sports Management in May of 2001. While attending college he served as an intramural programmer. During the year of 2000 Aaron held two different internships, one with the Woodlake Athletic club in Sioux Falls, SD and with Lifetime Fitness Inc. He then worked for Lifetime Fitness Inc. in St. Paul, MN as assistant operations manager before accepting the assistant director position with the Community Center in Madison. With his past work experience Aaron brings a wide-range of club and department operational knowledge to the Community Center in Madison.

Carol Shaver, LGIT, WSIT 

Carol Shaver is the Aquatics Coordinator for The Community Center. For the past twenty-five years Carol has worked with the aquatic programs in this community. She has also been involved with the surrounding communities with summer aquatic programs and information CPR and First Aid classes. She carries Instructor Trainer Certifications in Water Safety and Lifeguard Training as well as extensive training in CPR and First Aid. Carol graduated from Northern State University with a major in Physical Education and a minor in coaching. Carol was the Physical Education Teacher at St. Thomas and Lake Central. She was also the Health and Safety Director for Lake/Kingsbury Red Cross. Carol served as a coach with the Madison High School Cross Country and Track teams since 1984.

Jason Crisp, CSCS

Jason Crisp is the Fitness Coordinator for the Community Center. He graduated from Dakota State University with a degree in Exercise Science in May of 2005. Along with his degree, Jason is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist. While in college Jason interned as a Personal Trainer at Bally’s Total Fitness in Bloomington, MN and as a Sports Trainer at Acceleration West Sports Training Center in Eden Prairie, MN. He also has served as an Assistant Football coach for Colman-Egan high-school.

Jason’s advice for both athletes and non-athletes who are looking to improve their physical conditioning is to remain consistent with your workouts, Success comes from Consistency”.

Nicholas Lemke

Nicholas Lemke officially began his duties as Program Coordinator for the Community Center on May 1st, 2006. He graduated from the University Wisconsin - LaCrosse in the Spring of 2006 with a degree in Recreation Management. During college he instructed and supervised various youth sports programs and adult leagues for the City of LaCrosse. He served as a Student Intern during the spring of 2006 for the West Bend Park, Recreation & Forestry Department in West Bend, Wisconsin.

Nicholas also serves as the Recreation Supervisor for the City of Madison in providing the community with recreational leagues and programs. He also is the Intramural Coordinator for Dakota State University.

Frances Walker 

Frances Walker, Office Manager The Community Center, joined the staff in June of 2003. She was formerly employed with Weber Abstract Company of Madison for the past 10 years. Frances is married to Gene P. Walker and has 3 children and 5 grandchildren. 

She served as Property Manager for CBS Properties in Phoenix, AZ were she oversaw a multi-million dollar renovation project of a 301 residential property. She was also Property Manager for a 483 unit property that served as housing for college students. 

"I've always enjoyed the human aspect of property management. It's like running a small town and is very challenging. The Community Center offers many opportunities to interact with the community at large. The variety of people who are involved in the various activities of The Community Center are wonderful. It's fun and exciting place to work!"

Gene Wiehr officially began his duties on March 23, 2003.
