SOLICITATION OF GOODS OR SERVICES AND THIRD PARTY
ADVERTISEMENTS
I. OBJECTIVE To protect members or guests against
unwanted solicitation of goods and/or services, which
contradict The Community Centers mission.
II. CONTENT The Community Center has an obligation to
maintain an environment that promotes health, wellness,
and recreation rather than a commercial atmosphere.
Community Center acknowledges their responsibility in
promoting safety and security, to prevent commercial
exploitation and since the Community Center is located
on state property to assure that the facility is being
used and operated in a manner consistent with the
purpose for which it was constructed and are maintained
as defined by the State of South Dakota. Commercial
solicitation or sale of goods or services to members is
prohibited, unless specifically approved by the
Director.
A. Definition of third party A third party is
defined as any group or organization that is promoting a
program, event, service, or good that is not operated by
or in conjunction with The Community Center.
B. Procedure for approval to display or
advertise within The Community Center The Community
Center recognizes that it’s a community gathering place
and supports the promotion of a program, event, or
service by a third party if it doesn’t conflict with The
Community Center mission, program, event or policy.
Community Center has designated space set aside for the
promotion of events, programs, or service by a third
party if approved. It is the third party responsibility
to seek verbal or written approval by The Community
Center Director before promoting an event. If verbal or
written approval is not obtained The Community Center
reserves the right to take down and destroyed the
display.
C. Procedure for approval to solicit goods,
services, or conduct registration The Community Center
recognizes that it’s a community gathering place and
will lease out space available for organizations,
service clubs, or groups to solicit goods, services or
hold sign-up or registration for an event that doesn’t
conflict with The Community Center mission, program,
event, or policy. A third party must make arrangements
with The Community Center Director, before use of the
facility and the third party must:
1. Sign a Rental Agreement Form
2. Pay the appropriate fee(s) set forth by Community
Center Rental Policy and Fee(s)
D. Authority The Community Center Director has
authority to waive the any fee(s) if the program or
event is in conjunction with The Community Center,
Dakota State University, Madison Park & Recreation, or
if the program helps promotes the Community Center
mission. |
