Policy Statements
1. Bather Attire – Every patron of The Community
Center must wear appropriate swimwear so as to
sufficiently cover and not allow exposure of genitalia
when entering the water. Swimwear may not consist of
cutoffs or other items, which may not be conductive to
the health, safety, and welfare of all patrons.
2. Compliance with Written or Oral Rules – It shall
be a violation for any patron to not comply with any
written or oral rules, regulations, or requirements
imposed by The Community Center personal. Personal
conduct in and around the pool must be such that the
safety of self and others is not jeopardized. Any such
violation may result in immediate removal from the pool.
3. Restricting Admittance to the Pool – Given the
fact that health, safety, and welfare is an extreme
concern in the regulation of access to The Community
Center pool reserve the right to exclude or deny
admission to any patron or potential patron for
documented health or safety reasons. The Community
Center personal shall not, however, deny admission to
any person or persons on the basis of race, sex,
religion, or disability.
4. Pool load limits – The Community Center shall be
limited in it’s capacity according to the following
formula: one person for every 25 square feet of water
less than 4 feet in depth.
BATHER ATTIRE
- Swimmers must be attired in swimsuits, which
must include linings and have adequate coverage.
Other apparel, including undergarments, worn under
swim suits are not permitted for health reasons.
- Footwear may not be worn while swimming or
wading.
- Infants/children not toilet trained and
incontinent adults must wear snug plastic pants or
diaper under their swimsuits or swim diapers.
- For a child 3 & under the parent/ guardian
must be in the water right beside them.
- For a child 4-5 the parent/ guardian must be
in the pool area and supervising them.
PATRON BEHAVIOR
1. Supervision and general behavior.
Until 12:00 pm children, twelve years of age and
under must be supervised by an adult or a student 16
years or age or older in the pool area. After 12 pm 6
and up may swim without an adult in the pool area.
There must be one adult per every five children seven
years of age or under.
Misconduct of individuals brought in by an organized
group will lead to the dismissal of the entire group
from the pool, if the certain individuals are not
removed.
Roughness, running, pushing others, dunking,
splashing, snapping of towels, hanging on the
separation/lane rope that divides the pool, and any
other rough housing actions are not permitted.
Spitting or blowing of nose in the pool is not
permitted.
2. Expected behavior on slide.
Must be 48 inches tall to go down slide.
People must slide feet first one at a time and must
not climb up the slide.
Parents/guardians may not catch children in the
splash-down area or ride down the slide with the child.
Patrons are asked not to sit, swim, or loiter along
the splash-down area.
3. Expected behavior when diving.
Diving is permitted only in designated areas and
times.
Back dives, back jumps, flips, or cartwheels from the
side of the pool are not permitted.
Only one person is permitted on the diving board and
the ladder at a time. All dives must be forward in
nature off the front end of the board with one bounce
per dive.
Divers must swim directly to the ladder without
stopping and leave the diving area.
4. Personal items allowed in pool area.
Lost-n-Found Policy?
Strollers, infant seats, and other personal items may
be brought in but must be kept from the water’s edge and
emergency corridor areas.
Swim goggles, radios/walkmans (listening on
headsets), are allowed but must be 3 feet from pool
edge.
5. Personal items not allowed.
Inflatable of any kind (water wings, air mattresses,
etc), gum, tobacco, alcohol
Life jackets, except for disabled persons requiring
such protection, masks, fins, and snorkels.
ADMITTANCE TO POOL
- Admission to the pools will be refused to all
persons having contagious diseases or other
infections conditions such as colds, ring worm,
fevers, foot infections, skin lesions, inflamed
eyes, ear discharge, or any other condition which
has the appearance of being infectious.
- Children five years of age and under must be
accompanied by adult and supervised at all times by
an adult or student 16 years of age or older. The
ratio of children five years and under may not
exceed five children per adult. Children left
unsupervised will be dismissed, along with the
person responsible for their supervision. Children
three and under must have an adult with them in the
water.
- The pool manager reserves the rights to dismiss,
suspend, or prohibit from the pool and or related
facilities any person endangering the health,
safety, or pleasure of the pool patrons.
- No person shall be allowed to enter the pool
while under the influence of alcohol or other drugs.
EMERGENCY INFORMATION
- If a tornado warning is announced, all guests
and staff should move to shelter areas in the north
section of the facility. Stay close to interior
walls.
- If a fire occurs evacuate patrons through the
closest emergency exit. Notify director/other staff
members. If safe for employee check locker rooms,
pool, hot tub/sauna, and the entire facility.
