Three Easy Steps to
Successful Swimming Lessons
- Come to swim before lessons start. Orient your child to
the change room, locker room, and pool. Everyone likes to
know what to expect. Have fun in the water and practice
the skills your child already knows.
- Talk about the lessons with your child, make sure you
have realistic expectations, and that your child feels no
pressure to 'pass' or get a badge. Swimmers often need
more than one set of lessons to gain the skill,
coordination and confidence necessary to move on to the
next level.
- Speak to your child's instructor on the 4th and 8th
lessons. Ask about their progress and any areas that you
could work on with your child during a recreation swim.
Practice makes perfect!
